7th Sagarmatha Music Awards 2082 concluded with great success

Apr 10, Kathmandu - The 7th Sagarmatha Music Awards 2082 was successfully held, honoring Nepal's artistic and creative talents. Organized by Artha Nepal Pvt. Ltd., the awards aim to celebrate Nepali culture, preserve, and promote the nation’s rich artistic heritage.

The ceremony took place at the National Dance Hall in Jamal, Kathmandu, and featured prestigious awards and recognitions. Senior sitar artist Bijay Sharma was honored with the Sagarmatha Lifetime Achievement Award, accompanied by a cash prize of NPR 17,696. The event was graced by chief guests including former Vice President of Nepal, Paramananad Jha; Deputy CEO of Reliance Finance, Ram Hari Acharya; Jury Coordinator Santosh Shrestha; Program Director Purupratap Basynt; and Program Coordinator Manoj Thapa.

Dhur Lamsal received the Sagarmatha Arts Journalism Silver Award with a cash prize of NPR 8,848. Shiroomana Duwadi was honored with the Sagarmatha Radio Journalism Award. Other distinguished recipients included lyricist Khem Nath Dahal (Sagarmatha Music Award), social worker Ram Raja Thapa (Sagarmatha Social Service Award), Rajendra Luitel (Chairman of the Program Management Association), lyricist Lokraj Adhikari, artist Ashwini Jha, Rajendra Bhadathoki, and Rajendra Thapa Magar, who received various Sagarmatha honors.

The judging panel was led by renowned music composer Santosh Shrestha, with members including writer Malika Keshri (Prakash Shrestha), artist Sanam Kothayat, filmmaker Devendra Bajgai, folk singer Kuldendra Bik, singer Hemant Kaancha Rasailee, and lyricist Sahama Shah.

The event was sponsored by Mahalaxmi Development Bank, Jyoti Development Bank, Reliance Finance, Around the Himalayas Pvt Ltd, Nepa Top, Global Travels & Tours Pvt Ltd, and Warenz Ball Pvt Ltd. Khaltthi served as the voting partner.

Prominent Nepali musicians and celebrities graced the occasion, which was broadcast live on Mega TV, making it a memorable celebration of Nepali music and arts.
