Apr 10, Kathmandu - Nepal’s Finance Minister Dr. Swornim Waglé and His Excellency Zhang Maoming, the Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, held a cordial courtesy meeting at the Ministry of Finance.
During the meeting, the two dignitaries discussed various dimensions of economic and diplomatic relations between Nepal and China. Chinese Ambassador Zhang Maoming shared that fruitful conversations took place on enhancing bilateral cooperation in banking, connectivity, tourism, and the emerging field of artificial intelligence.
Both sides expressed their shared commitment to strengthening connectivity and advancing bilateral relations on a practical, efficient, and sustainable path. They also emphasized the importance of making Nepal-China relations more pragmatic and long-lasting.
Ambassador Maoming highlighted on social media that the meeting was highly productive, stating, “We had meaningful discussions on cooperation in banking, connectivity, tourism, and artificial intelligence. We are committed to making Nepal-China relations more practical and sustainable.”
The meeting is seen as a positive step toward increasing Chinese support and investment in Nepal’s digital infrastructure and economic development in the coming days.
