Apr 12, Kathmandu - Nepal Police have arrested a young man for allegedly broadcasting insulting and abusive content targeting Prime Minister Balen Shah and other prominent leaders. The suspect, Roshan Pokhrel from Falgunanda Rural Municipality-7 in Panchthar district, was taken into custody by the Cyber Bureau team.
Pokhrel is accused of using his YouTube channel to spew derogatory language against senior politicians, including Prime Minister Balen Shah. The Kathmandu-based Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police coordinated the operation, leading to his arrest.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Anish Karn, the arrest was made in coordination with cyber crime authorities in Panchthar. A case has already been filed against Pokhrel in Panchthar district.
Authorities also stated that Pokhrel used obscene language in his broadcasts. The investigation continues as police take action against online defamation and abusive content.
