We will make arrangements to generate reports digitally in all hospitals: Health Minister

Apr 12, Kathmandu - Nepal's Health Minister Nisha Mehta has announced plans to implement a swift, digital reporting system across all government hospitals.

During an inspection visit to Bir Hospital in Kathmandu on Sunday, Minister Mehta listened to patients and their relatives' concerns about delays in receiving health reports. She stated that a system is being developed to ensure patients can obtain their medical reports digitally, without the need to visit the hospital physically.

Patients have been facing difficulties due to delays in receiving test reports, especially when waiting for health reports after medical examinations. Hospital authorities explained that the high volume of around 5,000 outpatient services daily has contributed to the delays.

Minister Mehta emphasized that soon, patients will be able to access their health reports digitally, eliminating the need to visit the hospital solely for report collection. She also urged hospital management to ensure that patients do not have to purchase medicines from outside pharmacies.

After the hospital inspection, Minister Mehta briefed the media, stating that comprehensive plans for healthcare improvement will be announced soon. Despite the public holiday, outpatient services continued at hospitals following government directives to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services.
