Apr 13, Kathmandu - Former Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has successfully undergone surgery to remove gallstones. A team of doctors at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital performed the operation as per the scheduled plan, his secretariat confirmed.
According to medical officials, a gallstone approximately 22mm in size was found in Oli’s gallbladder and was successfully removed.
Oli was admitted to the hospital earlier today after experiencing health issues following his arrest from his residence in Gundu, Bhaktapur, on Chaitra 14. His arrest had prompted his wife, Radhika Shakya, to petition the Supreme Court, claiming he was being held illegally.
The court had ordered an investigation into the matter to be completed by Chaitra 26, and Oli was released on bail on Chaitra 24. However, due to his health condition, he continued treatment at the hospital.
