Nepal Stock Market Closes Week on a Positive Note, Gains Over 5 Points

Apr 17, Kathmandu - The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index saw a slight rise of 5.36 points on the final trading day of the week, closing at 2,838.40 points, according to NEPSE officials.

On Friday, trades worth approximately NPR 10.53 billion were conducted, with a total of 2.64 million shares changing hands in the secondary market.

Sector-wise, the hotel and tourism, hydro-power, manufacturing, miscellaneous, and trading groups recorded positive sub-indices, while banking, development banks, finance, investment, life insurance, non-life insurance, microfinance, and mutual funds experienced declines.

A total of 108 companies saw their share prices increase, whereas 150 companies’ share values decreased. Additionally, four companies hit positive circuit breakers today, signaling upward price limits.
