Apr 21, Kathmandu - A young man was murdered in a knife attack during a wedding ceremony in Bhanubasti, Punarbas Municipality-5, late last night.

According to the Kanchanpur District Police Office, 18-year-old Ujjwal Sair from Punarbas Municipality-5 was fatally stabbed in the chest during a dispute among local youths. Sair was participating in a relative’s wedding when he was attacked.

He was rushed to Maya Metro Hospital in Dhangadhi but succumbed to his injuries at around 2 a.m.

Superintendent Hem Bahadur Shahi of the District Police Office stated that two individuals, 25-year-old Dhan Bahadur Bayadi and 19-year-old Tanka Thapa, have been detained in connection with the incident. They are currently in custody at the Tribhuwanbasti Area Police Office as investigations into the case are underway.
