Apr 23, Kathmandu - The government has decided to retain the National Police Training Academy in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu, instead of transferring its land to the President’s Office as previously planned.
The Cabinet meeting held on Thursday approved the decision to keep the training center in its current location. Earlier, in 2075 BS (2018 AD), the government had decided to transfer the land of the academy to the Office of the President.
Addressing the media, government spokesperson and Education Minister Sasmit Pokharel confirmed the change. He stated, “In line with the Cabinet decision of Bhadra 1, 2075 BS, the entire land of the National Police Training Academy in Maharajgunj (comprising 104.3 ropani) was to be transferred to the President’s Office. However, the government has now decided to revert this decision and allow the academy to continue using the land as before.”
This reversal marks a significant shift in the government’s land management policies concerning key national institutions.
