US Navy Seizes Iranian Ship

Apr 25, Kathmandu - U.S. Central Command has announced that one of its warships intercepted a vessel flying the Iranian flag bound for an Iranian port.

In a statement issued on social media platform 'X', the command said, "Guided missile destroyer USS Rafael Peralta intercepted an Iranian-flagged vessel on Friday, April 24, as it was proceeding towards an Iranian port." The statement also included a photograph of the incident.

Earlier on the same day, in a separate release, the command reported that since the start of the U.S. naval blockade, a total of 34 vessels have altered their routes.

Following the conclusion of the first round of talks between Iran and the United States without any agreement, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the imposition of a blockade on Iranian ports.

Iran has strongly opposed the blockade, calling it a "violation of a ceasefire." In response, Iran has once again decided to strategically close the vital Strait of Hormuz.
