Apr 26, Kathmandu - Sarlahi District Administration has intensified its monitoring and enforcement actions against illegal health institutions. On Thursday, a total of 11 unregistered health facilities operating in Malangawa, the district headquarters, were shut down. Today, the administration further closed five health facilities in the Barahathawa Bazaar area.
Led by Assistant Chief District Officer Hom Prasad Ghimire, the inspection team found that these five health institutions lacked proper registration. The facilities, Ayushman Health Care, Sagarmatha Lab, Unique Hospital, Janasewa Lab, and Smile Sarokar Dental, were shut down by the Barahathwa Area Police Office due to the absence of registration.
The team also identified four other health institutions that, despite having registration, were found to be operating in violation of established standards. Following inspections, these facilities were also cautioned.
Earlier on Thursday, the team, headed by Assistant CDO Ghimire, had shut down 11 illegal health institutions operating in Malangawa. Today, five more in Barahathwa have been closed.
Assistant CDO Ghimire stated that monitoring of health facilities across the district is ongoing and emphasized that action, including penalties, will be taken against those operating illegally or in violation of regulations.
