Iran facing Internet Shutdown for 58 Days

Apr 26, Kathmandu - Iran has maintained a near-total internet blackout for the 58th consecutive day. According to NetBlocks, an internet monitoring organization, network restrictions across the country have entered their ninth week, exceeding 1,368 hours.

Reports indicate that the government intensified internet restrictions following renewed anti-government protests at the beginning of January. Subsequently, at the end of February, restrictions were further tightened after the start of a conflict involving the United States and Israel against Iran.

The ongoing internet outage has severely impacted thousands of individuals whose daily work depends on online connectivity. The online business, communication, and service sectors have been particularly hard hit.

Experts warn that prolonged internet shutdowns can have serious repercussions on economic activities and significantly affect the daily lives of ordinary citizens.
