US Special Envoy Sergio Gor to Visit Kathmandu, Seeks Meeting with Prime Minister

Apr 27, Kathmandu - US Special Envoy for South and Central Asia Sergio Gor is scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu on Thursday (Jestha 17).

Gor, who is also the US Ambassador to India, has also requested time to pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Balendra Shah.

According to the source, US Special Envoy Gor has requested to arrange a meeting on either Baisakh 18 or 19. He is also scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal and Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle.

Senior leader of the National Independent Party, Balendra Shah, is the second high-level guest to visit Nepal from the US after becoming the Prime Minister. Earlier, US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Paul Kapur arrived in Nepal on a three-day visit on Baisakh 3.

During his visit to Nepal, Kapur had paid courtesy calls on Foreign Minister Khanal and Finance Minister Wagle. Kapur also met with Rastriya Swatantra Party Chairman Rabi Lamichhane.
