May 03, Kathmandu - The government has called on citizens living in high-risk areas along riverbanks to come forward promptly to facilitate their relocation process.
In a statement issued today, the Ministry of Urban Development appealed to citizens requiring assistance and those stranded on roads to contact the primary registration center at Dashrath Stadium.
The ministry announced that the government has organized a holding center to collect digital records of genuine landless squatters and manage them efficiently. Basic services such as shelter, food, healthcare, education for children, and psychological counseling are being provided at this center.
Citizens who are truly landless or unable to manage their livelihoods due to economic hardships are encouraged to take advantage of the services available.
The ministry emphasized that the government is fully committed to the safe, organized, and long-term rehabilitation of displaced and stranded citizens.
