May 04, Kathmandu - The deadline to submit applications for the position of Chairperson of the Nepal Securities Board (NSB), the regulatory authority of the capital market, is today. The advisory committee formed to recommend a suitable candidate has announced that applications will be accepted until this Monday.
As of now, fifteen candidates have submitted their applications. The Cabinet had established a three-member recommendation committee, headed by Dr. Gunakar Bhatta, Vice Chairman of the National Planning Commission. The committee also includes Secretary of Finance Ghanashyam Upadhyay and Bhuvan Kumar Dahal, former President of the Nepal Bankers Association.
Candidates interested in the position are advised to submit their details to the secretariat of the committee, located within the Ministry of Finance at Singha Durbar. According to the Securities Act, applicants must hold a postgraduate degree from a recognized university. Additionally, they must possess at least seven years of experience in the fields of capital markets, securities management, economics, finance, commerce, management, or law.
