South Asia Trade Fair 2026 Kicks Off to Boost Regional Business Opportunities

May 07, Kathmandu - The second South Asia Trade Fair 2026 has commenced today, aiming to bring together business, trade, and service opportunities from across the South Asian region in one platform.  

Held at the Bhirkutimandap complex on Exhibition Road, the event features participation from business groups representing Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.  

The trade fair was inaugurated jointly by ambassadors and business leaders from various participating countries. It will run until May 28 and is organized by Inroduction Trade Shows Nepal in collaboration with Bangladesh’s Ministry of Industry and Export Promotion Bureau, with support from Bhutan’s Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Employment.  

Expected to attract over 5,000 entrepreneurs and more than 100,000 local visitors from the SAARC region, the exhibition aims to promote exportable products and encourage regional trade.  

The fair showcases a diverse range of products including handicrafts, traditional foods, ready-made garments, beauty products, furniture, agricultural goods, information technology, household appliances, and electric vehicles, according to organizer Suman Maharjan.  

The event is designed to promote product and service development, market research, foster buyer-seller connections, and strengthen trade relations among participating countries.
