Former Finance Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki and 13 Others Face Corruption Charges Over Pokhara Airport Scam

May 07, Kathmandu - Former Finance Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, along with 13 other officials, has been charged with corruption related to the construction of Pokhara Regional Airport. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the case accusing them of irregularities in the airport's construction project.

The charges allege a financial loss of NPR 362.5 million (approximately 3.62 billion Nepali Rupees). The case includes allegations against former Secretary Shankar Adhikari, former Tourism Secretary Maheshwar Neupane, former Secretary Kewal Bhandari, and former Director General of Civil Aviation Pradeep Adhikari, among others.

This is the third major corruption case filed by the ACC related to the Pokhara Airport scandal.
