Nepal Weather Department Predicts Below-Average Monsoon, Rising Temperatures to Impact Agriculture and Daily Life

May 08, Kathmandu - The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has announced that the upcoming monsoon season across Nepal is expected to bring below-average rainfall and increased temperatures. According to the seasonal forecast issued by the Climate Science Division, this year's monsoon is projected to be relatively weak.

The department states that from Jestha 1 to Ashwin 14, the monsoon season is likely to experience higher-than-average maximum and minimum temperatures nationwide. This trend indicates a potential escalation in heat levels, which could adversely affect agriculture, drinking water supplies, and daily life in the country.
