Tragic Fire Near Strait of Hormuz Claims Indian Life: One Dead, Four Injured

May 09, Kathmandu -  A tragic incident involving a fire on an Indian cargo ship near the Strait of Hormuz has resulted in the death of one Indian national, according to the Indian Consulate in Dubai. The vessel, made of wood, caught fire after being struck by an unidentified object, leading to the devastating blaze.

The Indian Foreign Mission confirmed that one crew member from Gujarat, India, lost their life in the incident. Four other crew members were injured; they were rescued by another ship passing nearby. The injured are currently receiving medical treatment.

The incident has raised concerns, with officials from the region visiting the rescued Indian nationals to assess their condition. The Indian authorities are in continuous contact with the shipping company to gather further details and have assured all necessary support for the victims and their families.
