Regular Vehicle Inspections in Kathmandu to Reduce Pollution

May 10, Kathmandu - Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Department of Environment Management has intensified vehicle inspections to reduce increasing air pollution in the Kathmandu Valley.

The department has been conducting regular pollution checks of vehicles plying in various places here in coordination with the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office.

Kathmandu Metropolitan City has stated that this campaign has been launched to ensure that vehicles plying on the roads comply with the prescribed standards with the aim of improving air quality in the Valley.

During pollution checks, the police have been immediately taking action against vehicles that do not meet the standards set by the government.

Since driving vehicles that violate the standards significantly increases air pollution, the action process, including fines, has been initiated.
