Ravi Lamichhane Vows Commitment to Landless Homeless Communities’ Rights

May 10, Kathmandu - Ravindra Lamichhane, President of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP), affirmed his unwavering commitment to addressing the issues faced by landless and homeless communities in Nepal.

During the closing ceremony of a training program for RSP lawmakers held on Sunday, Lamichhane clarified that his party has never engaged in demolishing the homes of landless squatters. He criticized past political parties for exploiting these vulnerable groups merely as vote banks, which has further complicated their plight.

Lamichhane also highlighted recent efforts to control illegal encroachments along riversides and public lands, emphasizing the need for systematic measures to curb unlawful settlements.

Expressing his resolve, Lamichhane stated, "I am ready to stand firm for this cause. I have never turned my back on the problems of landless people. No one should exploit or undermine them. We want to grant them their rights, and as long as their rights are not secured, I will remain by their side."
