May 11, Kathmandu - In a stunning upset, Nepal ‘A’ secured a sensational seven-run victory over the United States national team, completing a clean sweep of the four-match tri series with a 4-0 record.
Nepal set a challenging target after posting 264 runs in their innings. Sundeep Jora played a stellar role, scoring a century off 113 balls, which powered the team’s total. In response, USA’s Sahan Jayasuriya fought valiantly but couldn’t carry his team to victory.
In the final over, the US needed 9 runs with just one wicket remaining. Spinner Sher Malla delivered an impressive performance, starting with a wide ball. On the second ball, he attempted a big shot but was caught in the deep. Sher Malla then took four wickets overall, sealing the game for Nepal. Jaysurya was dismissed for 71.
Before this, Nepal had already defeated Scotland twice and the USA once in the series, showcasing their dominance in the tournament.
