Man Accused of Swindling Millions with Fake Job Offers Abroad

May 12, Kathmandu - A man has been arrested for allegedly defrauding several individuals by promising them employment opportunities abroad. The accused, 47-year-old Shailendra Pandey, a resident of Ramgram Municipality-7, Western Nawalparasi, was taken into custody in Kathmandu.

According to the Kathmandu District Crime Investigation Office, Pandey lured 13 victims with false promises of lucrative jobs in countries including Serbia and Slovakia. He collected a total of NPR 3.57 million from them but subsequently disappeared, cutting off all contact.

Authorities arrested Pandey on Monday from Nagarjuna Municipality-9 in Kathmandu and have handed him over to the Department of Foreign Employment for further investigation and legal action.
