May 12, Kathmandu - An agreement on mutual legal assistance has been submitted to the House of Representatives.
Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam presented the agreement in the meeting of the House of Representatives held on Wednesday (Baishakh 29). The agreement is related to criminal matters between the Government of Nepal and the Government of India.
Law Minister Gautam, while presenting the agreement, said that the agreement will facilitate the recovery of assets hidden in corruption and criminal offenses. She said that it will especially lead to the work of asset laundering. She said that the agreement will also facilitate the punishment of criminals.
