Prime Minister's responsibility is to make Parliament dignified: Barsha Man

May 14, Kathmandu - During the debate on the government's annual policy and program, Nepali Communist Party (UML) MP Bishnu Poudel highlighted the absence of Prime Minister Balendra Shah, raising concerns in the ruling coalition. Poudel emphasized that, in parliamentary democracy, the leader of the parliamentary party, typically the Prime Minister, holds the responsibility for maintaining decorum and steering the parliament effectively.

He pointed out that since the government's policies and programs are the Prime Minister's responsibility, ignoring or neglecting these during discussions reflects poorly. Poudel expressed disappointment that, despite the President presenting the policy and program and opposition support for the resolution of thanks, the Prime Minister was not present in the parliament. He underscored that true political renewal involves taking ownership of responsibilities, and he believes the Prime Minister should lead by example.
