Responsibilities of Ministers Changed after the Number of Ministries was Reduced

May 14, Kathmandu - President Ram Chandra Poudel has reallocated the responsibilities within the Council of Ministers following a recommendation from Prime Minister Balendra Shah. This move comes as part of the government's effort to streamline ministries after a recent decision to reduce their number.

Under the new arrangement, Prime Minister Balen has taken charge of the Ministries of Defense, Home Affairs, Technology, and Innovation. The responsibilities of other ministers have been redistributed as per the restructuring.

Dr. Swarnim Wagale will oversee the Ministry of Finance, Shishir Khanal will handle Foreign Affairs, and Biraj Bhakta Shrestha will be responsible for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation.

Additionally, Sunil Lamsal has been assigned the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, Sobita Gautam will oversee Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, while Sita Badi has been entrusted with Women, Children, Gender, Minority, and Social Security.

Pratibha Rawal will manage Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs, and General Administration. Nisha Mehta will oversee Health and Food Safety, and Sasmita Pokhrel will be in charge of Education and Sports.

Meanwhile, Khatkharaj Poudel has been appointed to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation. Bikram Thimilsina will handle Information and Communication, Gita Chaudhary will take charge of Agriculture, Forests, and Environment, Gauri Kumari will be responsible for Industry, Commerce, and Supply, and Ramji Yadav will oversee Youth, Labor, and Employment.

This reshuffle aims to enhance efficiency and better governance in the Nepali cabinet.
