Lumbini Province Expands Transportation Services to Remote Districts, Enhancing Accessibility

May 16, Kathmandu - Lumbini Province has announced plans to extend transportation services to six districts lacking dedicated transportation offices. The decision was made during a Provincial Cabinet meeting, aiming to improve vehicle registration renewal and temporary route permits across seven locations.

Among the 12 districts in the province, services will now be available in Gulmi, Arghakhanchi, Pyuthan, Rolpa, Rukum East, and Bardiya. Additionally, the district of Dang will benefit from new services in Ghorahi, where vehicle registration renewal and permit issuance will be operational.

Transportation, Industry, and Tourism Minister Pradanda Bikram Neupane explained that despite the presence of a vehicle office in Tulsipur, the high demand in Ghorahi necessitated the establishment of an additional office there. The cabinet approved the necessary arrangements to commence these services from the upcoming fiscal year.

This expansion will ensure that all 12 districts in the province have access to transportation services, previously limited to residents traveling to districts like Dang, Banke, and Butwal for registration and permit services. The government aims to streamline transportation-related processes through local offices, improving citizen convenience and increasing revenue.
