May 16, Kathmandu - The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has announced that it has begun legal proceedings against an individual who threatened a ward secretary in Dullu Municipality-13, Dallekh through a phone call.
According to a press release issued today by Deputy Secretary Hem Raj Aryal, the office has identified the person as Prakash Khadka, who allegedly misused the name of the Prime Minister’s Office to utter abusive language and issued threats. The office stated that after a recorded audio of the threatening call was publicized, it promptly directed relevant security and investigation agencies to initiate legal action.
The office condemned any activities that create fear and intimidation against public servants, emphasizing that such behavior—disrespectful conduct and pressure tactics—is completely unacceptable and unforgivable. The statement reaffirmed the commitment of the Prime Minister to uphold good governance, the rule of law, and the professional security and morale of civil servants.
“The honorable Prime Minister is firmly committed to these principles, and the office is dedicated to taking strict legal action against anyone challenging the rule of law,” the release read.
Furthermore, the office warned against any attempt by individuals to use the Prime Minister’s name, the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, or the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers’ Office to threaten, bargain, or exert undue pressure via phone calls or meetings. It urged citizens and government bodies not to fall for such intimidation tactics.
The office assured that all suspicious calls, messages, or communications will be verified through official channels before any action is taken. It emphasized that the government remains vigilant and committed to safeguarding the dignity of the state administration and the credibility of its institutions.
