Nepal Badminton Association Hosts 42nd National Championships in Kathmandu: Risila Maharjan Clinches Women's Singles Title

May 16, Kathmandu - Risila Mahajan of Tribhuvan Army Club claimed the women's singles title at the 42nd National Badminton Championships organized by the Nepal Badminton Association. The event took place at the National Sports Council's (NSC) indoor hall in Tripureshwor on Saturday.

In the thrilling final match, Maharjan defeated Nangsal Tamang of Koshi Province in straight sets, 21–18, 21–18, to secure the championship. The tournament saw participation from 115 players representing seven provinces and three departmental teams competing across five categories.

In addition to the singles triumph, Mahajan also secured the women's doubles title alongside teammate Amit Giri of the Army Club. The duo defeated the pair of Rosie Rai and Nisam Subba from Koshi Province in the final with scores of 21–17, 21–17.

The tournament's third-place honors went to Nangsal Tamang and Bhavani Devi of Koshi Province, as well as the pair of Sita Rai and Sushma Shrestha from Nepal Police Club.
