Birganj Customs Office Raises Nearly Rs 200 Billion in Revenue in 10 Months Despite Challenges

May 16, Kathmandu - Birganj Customs Office has collected approximately Rs 199.40 billion in revenue over the first ten months of the current fiscal year. Although the department set a target of Rs 223.18 billion for this period, it achieved 89.35% of its goal, according to officials.

Uday Singh Bista, the information officer at the customs office, expressed satisfaction with the revenue collection so far. He highlighted that the main sources of revenue include imports of petroleum products, vehicles, and vehicle parts.

The Department of Customs had set an annual target of Rs 273.39 billion for the entire fiscal year. With two months remaining, the office anticipates additional revenue collection.

Revenue figures for the past months include Rs 18.44 billion in Shrawan, Rs 20.73 billion in Bhadra, Rs 19.09 billion in Ashwin, Rs 17.33 billion in Kartik, and Rs 20.80 billion in Mangsir. Other months saw collections of Rs 20.02 billion in Poush, Rs 18.92 billion in Magh, Rs 19.34 billion in Falgun, Rs 22.82 billion in Chaitra, and Rs 21.74 billion in Baisakh, as reported by Bista.
