May 17, Kathmandu - The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has started ward conventions simultaneously in various wards across the country today with the aim of strengthening its organizational structure from the ground up.

Around 1,500 wards where ad hoc committees had been formed before Baisakh 20 are going to hold conventions today to elect new leadership.

According to the RSP, the party's ad hoc committees have been formed in around 3,000 wards across the country so far. Of these, 50 percent of the wards' conventions have already been successfully completed in various stages. Today's date has been set to complete the organizational process of the remaining wards where ad hoc committees have been formed, but the convention has not been held yet.

The party has made a special strategy to hold ward and local level conventions in two phases. Accordingly, for the remaining wards where ad hoc committees are formed before Jestha 3, the second phase of the ward convention is scheduled for Jestha 16. The municipal convention, which will begin immediately after the ward convention, has also been divided into two phases, the first phase of which will be completed on Jestha 9 and the second phase on Jestha 17.

For organizational strengthening, the RSP has also set a loose and practical rule. According to which, the party has decided that if at least 30 percent of the total wards of any municipality have completed their conventions and in the case of districts, if 30 percent of the municipalities have completed their conventions, the higher-level convention process will not be stopped.

According to this schedule, the RSP is preparing to hold district conventions on Jestha 23 and 24. Immediately after that, provincial conventions will begin on Jestha 26 and will be held across the country by Asad 1.

After completing all the local and provincial level conventions, the historic first central general convention of the RSS will be grandly organized in Chitwan from Asad 7 to 9. What is special is that the RSS has set the date for its first general convention on the historic day that marks exactly four years since the party was formed.
