Gagan Thapa Vows Inclusivity and Unity for Nepali Congress Amid Internal Challenges

May 17, Kathmandu - Nepali Congress Chir Gagan Thapa has expressed his unwavering commitment to inclusivity within the party, stating he is ready to work with all elected leaders from the 14th General Convention, regardless of their participation in the special convention.

During an interactive session today, Thapa emphasized that the behavior towards leaders should not be based on whether they attended the special convention or not. He highlighted the importance of bringing together a broad spectrum of elected representatives in the central committee.

“I want to include everyone elected from the 14th General Convention in the central committee with respect and unity,” Thapa said. “It is my proposal to work collectively. Leaders who deserve to be senior will be made senior leaders, and others will be assigned appropriate responsibilities. Opportunities should not be divided based on attendance at the special convention or not. No decision should depend on whether someone participated in the special convention.”

Thapa also assured flexibility regarding the composition of committees formed for the party’s upcoming convention, inviting suggestions through any means for inclusion. He stressed the importance of fairness and inclusivity in the party’s internal processes.
