May 18, Kathmandu - In the House of Representatives, Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party Deputy Leader Abhishek Pratap Shah expressed serious concerns over the asset declaration made public by former Home Minister Sudan Gurung, describing it as highly suspicious and implausible. He demanded an immediate and impartial investigation into the matter.
During the parliamentary session on Monday, (Jestha 4), Shah stated that widespread suspicion and discussions are circulating among the public regarding the ongoing efforts by the Asset Investigation Commission to clear and protect the former minister.
“No individual holding a powerful position should feel above the law, and the commission must carry out its duties without any pressure or influence,” he emphasized.
He further added, “The House of Representatives is the center of the people's trust. Therefore, I request the government to monitor the commission's activities closely and ensure a high-level, transparent investigation into the assets of the former Home Minister.”
