May 19, Kathmandu - Nepal's newly appointed Chief Justice, Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma, is set to take his oath of office today at 6:15 PM. According to sources from the Presidential Office, the oath ceremony will be held at the Sheetal Nivas residence.
Before the oath-taking, President Ram Chandra Poudel will formally appoint Sharma as the Chief Justice of Nepal. The appointment follows the unanimous approval of Sharma's name by the Parliamentary Hearing Committee earlier today.
During the committee's meeting, Sharma also presented his action plan and held discussions with the complainant. The committee has already informed the President in writing about their decision to endorse Sharma's appointment.
The oath ceremony will mark the beginning of Sharma's tenure as Nepal’s Chief Justice, ensuring a new chapter in the judiciary.
