May 26, Kathmandu - In a passionate appeal during Tuesday's session of the House of Representatives, Krantishikha Dhital, a Member of Parliament from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), called on the government to listen to and address the demands of teachers. She emphasized that teachers are suffering from internal pain caused by a lack of respect and recognition.
Dhital expressed concern over the societal attitude towards educators, stating, “In a country where teachers are not respected, how can that nation become conscious and prosperous? Despite possessing qualifications and capabilities, teachers are battling feelings of insult, disappointment, and mental anguish because their profession does not bring them respect.”
She further urged the society and the government to ask teachers what they need instead of only demanding what teachers can provide. “Society has always asked teachers for what they need, but never asked teachers what they want. Now is the time to ask teachers what they truly need,” she added.
