Opposition Disrupts Parliament Over RSP's Remarks, Speaker Calls for Break

May 26, Kathmandu - Nepali Congress and UML opposition members disrupted Parliament after Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MP Jagadish Kharel made controversial remarks targeting the opposition. The opposition members staged protests, prompting Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal to adjourn the meeting for 15 minutes.

During the session, despite opposition protests, Speaker Aryal moved forward with the theoretical discussion on the Tourism Bill. The situation escalated when Kharel labeled the opposition's protests as a "spectacle," provoking further anger among opposition MPs.

In response to Kharel's comments, opposition leaders expressed their displeasure loudly from their seats, criticizing the RSP MP's remarks. The opposition's frustration was further evident when Congress and UML MPs openly protested from their seats, citing the need for the government to introduce ordinances due to such behavior.

Notably, Congress MP Narendra Keraung was being escorted towards the rostrum when Chief Whip Vasna Thapa swiftly pulled him back to his seat amidst the chaos.
