May 30, Kathmandu - Yunik Paneru of Sulikot-8, Barpak, has scored a perfect 4.0 GPA in the recent Secondary Education Examination (SEE). The local village municipality honored his outstanding performance with a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh, coinciding with the celebration of Republic Day.
According to Ward Chairman Krishna Gurung of Ward No. 7, the municipality had previously announced a reward for students who attain a GPA of 4.0 in SEE. "Under this program, Yunik Paneru from Shailaputri Secondary School, who achieved the perfect GPA, was felicitated during the hospital inauguration and award distribution event held on Friday," he said.
In addition to Yunik, seven students who scored between 3.40 and 3.59 GPA received Rs. 10,000 each, and one student with a GPA of 3.60 was awarded Rs. 15,000 in cash.
The municipality also honored excellent teachers from various grades—10 teachers from grades 12, 9 from grade 10, 7 from grade 8, and 6 from grade 5—each with Rs. 5,000 for their dedication and service.
