May 30, Kathmandu - A five-day training program focusing on Information Technology (IT) and digital literacy has been launched for teachers working in community schools of Pauwadung Rural Municipality. Organized as part of the municipality's initiative, the training aims to modernize teaching and learning processes, making education more technology-friendly and of higher quality.
The training saw active participation from IT teachers across various schools within the municipality. Participants received theoretical and practical knowledge on effective computer use, creation of digital educational content, multimedia presentations, conducting online classes, utilizing e-learning platforms, and ensuring internet security.
Municipality Chair Kiran Rai emphasized the importance of maximizing existing technological resources in schools. He noted that the training included practical exercises to strengthen teachers’ skills, with a focus on developing competence in using digital boards, projectors, video content creation, and presentation skills.
“Education in today’s era is incomplete without technology,” Rai stated. “Such training helps equip teachers with the skills needed to adapt to the digital age.”
The municipality plans to expand access to technology in schools, provide necessary equipment, and continue conducting similar training sessions to enhance teachers’ capacities. Nabin Bhattarai, the chief administrative officer of the municipality, highlighted that these efforts are vital for elevating the long-term quality of community education.
Participating teachers expressed their commitment to applying their newly acquired skills in classrooms, aiming to make lessons more engaging and effective. They also expressed enthusiasm for adopting innovative teaching methods through digital platforms to increase students’ interest in learning.
