Nepal’s Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal Embarks on Official Visit to India

Jun 05, Kathmandu - Nepal’s Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal has arrived in India for an official visit at the invitation of Indian Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar. The five-day visit, which will conclude on Sunday, aims to bolster Nepal-India relations across multiple fronts.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Khanal will hold formal talks with Indian Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar in New Delhi. The discussions are expected to cover a range of bilateral issues, including trade, investment, energy cooperation, connectivity, and people-to-people relations.

This high-level visit is part of the regular diplomatic exchanges between the two neighboring countries and is anticipated to strengthen the long-term, multi-dimensional partnership between Nepal and India. Minister Khanal is scheduled to return to Nepal on Jestha 24.

Minister Khanal emphasized the increasing public expectations for change and stressed the importance of effective collaboration among the government, private sector, development partners, and stakeholders to meet these aspirations.

Meanwhile, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane, who is currently in India, is also returning home today after completing his five-day visit.
