Hong Kong Sets Nepal a Target of 189 Runs

Jun 08, Kathmandu - Hong Kong has set a challenging target against Nepal for the Asian Games qualifiers title. In the final match played at the Singapore National Cricket Ground today, Hong Kong scored 188 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

The middle-order batsmen performed brilliantly for Hong Kong. Despite losing the early wickets cheaply, Anshuman Rath batted explosively and led the team's innings. He contributed the most with 80 runs in just 45 balls with the help of 6 fours and 6 sixes.

Similarly, wicketkeeper-batsman Shahid Wasif batted at a fast pace and scored 55 runs in 28 balls, while Shiva Mathur added 26 runs.

Sher Malla proved to be the most successful batsman for Nepal in terms of bowling. He took 4 important wickets for 32 runs in his 4-over spell. Similarly, Karan KC took 2 wickets for giving 45 runs in 4 overs, while Sandeep Lamichhane took 1 wicket. Dipendra Singh Airi and Sompal Kami, however, failed to take any wickets in this match.
