Preparations to Adjust Prices of Two Cancer Drugs in Short Supply

Jun 08, Kathmandu - The supply of 'Carboplatin' and 'Cisplatin' drugs used in cancer chemotherapy in hospitals is set to become easier. Importers will make the drugs available easily by today and tomorrow.
According to Pawan Acharya, President of the Nepal Drug Importers Association, the association will supply these drugs to hospitals by today and tomorrow to prevent patients from being harmed.

The shortage of these two types of drugs, which are considered essential for the treatment of cancer, has affected the treatment of patients for some time. Due to the shortage of these drugs used during chemotherapy, doctors in this area had even appealed to the government not to put the lives of patients at risk. Doctors claim that the lack of these drugs, which are required by more than 60 percent of cancer patients, could put the health of patients at risk.
