Indian National Arrested with Hard Drug LSD in Pokhara

Jun 12, Kathmandu - An Indian national has been arrested with the hard drug LSD. A joint team of the District Police Office, Kaski, and the Narcotics Control Bureau has taken 28-year-old Ayush Ajit from Kerala, India, into custody.

The police had intensified surveillance after the movement of Indian nationals increased in the Lakeside area of ​​Pokhara. In the meantime, on Baisakh 30, at 2 pm, an Indian youth was found walking suspiciously around the post office at Shahid Chowk, Pokhara-7, according to the police.

During the investigation, it was found that the youth was inquiring about a letter from the Netherlands. After the letter addressed to Hotel Gokyo Lake appeared suspicious, the police said that 1,000 LSD stickers were found when the letter was opened in the presence of postal employees and public representatives.

Investigation revealed that the arrested Ajit had come to Pokhara in the third week of April and stayed at the Holy Basil Guest House in Pokhara-18, Sedi. Police said that Rs. 740,000 in cash and a mobile phone were also recovered during a search of the guest house.

LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) is a highly potent psychoactive drug that causes hallucinations, excitement, and severe effects on consciousness. Although its trade is rare in Nepal, this is the first time such a large quantity has been found in Pokhara, according to police.
