Jun 15, Kathmandu - Nepal’s Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal is currently on an official visit to China, where he is scheduled to hold crucial bilateral talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. The meeting is set to take place this afternoon at 5:45 PM local time.
The visit, at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, aims to deepen Nepal-China relations, expand economic diplomacy, and promote investment opportunities, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During his stay, Minister Khanal will also hold separate meetings with senior Chinese officials. He is expected to participate in an upcoming investment conference, where he will highlight Nepal’s potential in sectors such as energy, tourism, agriculture, information technology, infrastructure, and manufacturing to Chinese investors and business circles.
Nepalese diplomatic sources indicate that the country is emphasizing foreign investment, technology transfer, and job creation, with a focus on making economic cooperation with China more effective. As part of this effort, Minister Khanal will engage directly with Chinese private sector representatives through various business and investment programs.
The Foreign Minister is scheduled to return to Nepal on Asadha 3.
On the first day of his visit, the Nepalese Embassy in Beijing organized a special reception in honor of Minister Khanal. During the event, he interacted with members of the Nepali community residing in China, including entrepreneurs, students, and professionals.
