Tanahun District Declares Full Immunization and Sustainability for All Local Levels

Jun 20, Kathmandu - Tanahun District has successfully achieved full immunization coverage across all ten local administrative units, officially declaring them as fully immunized and sustainable.

In line with the district's goal to ensure complete vaccination and declare sustainability within the current fiscal year, all local bodies in Tanahun have reached this milestone. The declaration of full immunization and sustainability was officially announced for Aambukhaireni Rural Municipality on Thursday, marking the achievement for all ten local levels in the district.

According to Shankarbabu Adhikari, Immunization Officer at the District Public Health Office, the municipalities of Bhanu, Shuklagandaki, Bhimad, Vyas, Mayagde Rural Municipality, Bandi Pur Rural Municipality, Ghirung Rural Municipality, Devghat Rural Municipality, Aambukhaireni Rural Municipality, and Rishing Rural Municipality have all been declared fully immunized and sustainable.

He further stated that all 85 wards within these ten local units had previously been declared as full immunization wards. He added that within a few days, Tanahun District itself will be officially declared a fully immunized district.

Children aged 16 to 59 months, who have received all required vaccines within 15 months, form the basis for declaring the local levels fully immunized and sustainable.

According to the Health Office, the full immunization campaign has played a crucial role in protecting children from various infectious diseases and increasing health awareness within the community. Efforts are also underway to strengthen collaboration among local governments, health institutions, and communities to make the vaccination program more effective across the district.
