Delay at RSP's First Convention as Session Remains Suspended

Jun 21, Kathmandu - The inaugural session of the Rastriya Swatantra Party's (RSP) first convention has yet to commence, despite scheduled to start at 8:30 AM on Monday. As of 10:30 AM, the session was still underway, with no indication of beginning.

Party General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti cited breakfast and other logistical reasons for the delay. "The delay was due to breakfast and some other matters. We will start shortly," he assured.

The convention is taking place at the Bharatpur Exhibition Center in Chitwan. It officially opened on Sunday, Asadha 7, and is scheduled to run until Tuesday, Asadha 8.

Initially, the disciplinary committee's report will be presented, with Ramakant Rimal scheduled to deliver the report and facilitate discussion. Following that, Treasurer Lima Adhikari will present the financial report for discussion, after which General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti will present the organizational report for deliberation.

Subsequently, Co-Secretary Bipin Acharya will lead the discussion on the party's constitution. Once the constitution is approved, party President Rabi Lamichhane will present the political report. Discussions on this report will follow, leading to the final approval of the convention's agenda.
