Five Leaders Support Bipin Acharya for the post of RSP General Secretary

Jun 26, Kathmandu - The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has announced that its leadership positions will be filled through an electoral process due to a surge in aspirants for party posts. According to the party's constitution, two vice-chairs, one general secretary, and three deputy general secretaries will be elected via election.

As per the procedure, Swasrnim Wagle has been elected unopposed as Vice-Chair. However, among the eight candidates vying for the position of General Secretary, four have withdrawn their nominations in support of Bipin Acharya, a close associate of party leader Rabi Lamichhane.

Acharya previously served as Deputy General Secretary. The remaining candidates for the post included Kavindra Burlakoti, Ganesh Parajuli, Shishir Khandel, Jagdish Kharel, and Pramod Nepane. Notably, Khandel, who is also serving as the Foreign Minister, did not contest. The other four candidates—Burlakoti, Parajuli, Kharel, and Nepane—also withdrew their nominations.

The electoral process marks a significant step in the party’s internal democratic procedures amid high competition for leadership roles.
