Shocking Revelations in Maharashtra's Lohagad Fort Murder: Planned Execution and Multiple Strategies Unveiled

Jun 28, Kathmandu - New and shocking facts are emerging daily in the high-profile murder case at Maharashtra’s famous Lohagad Fort, where businessman Ketan Agrawal was pushed off a cliff. According to investigations by Pune Rural Police, the main suspects, Sia Goyal and her lover Chetan Chaudhary, had researched methods of murder on Google before committing the crime.

The suspects reportedly rehearsed their responses to police questions, including the location of the murder and how they would explain their actions if caught. To strengthen the investigation, authorities on Sunday took both suspects to Lohagad Fort under heavy security to reconstruct the crime scene.

Meticulous Planning and Multiple Escape Strategies

Investigators revealed that Sia and Chetan executed the murder with careful planning. They had visited Lohagad Fort beforehand to identify the exact spot where pushing Ketan would result in death and even devised plans to change their appearance if caught.

Their plans were not limited to a single approach. After the initial plan failed, they prepared Plan B and Plan C, with contingencies for various scenarios. They had also rehearsed their stories in advance, including how to deny involvement. Following the crime, both suspects deleted chat histories and emptied recycling bins from their mobiles, which have now been sent for forensic analysis.

First Attempt Foiled by Nature

Police investigations uncovered that Sia had previously attempted to kill Ketan on June 14. She had taken him to Lohagad Fort and tried to push him off the cliff, but he managed to grab onto bushes at the edge, saving his life. During the attempt, Sia pretended to scream “Snake… Snake…,” making Ketan believe he was seeing a snake, which caused him to lose his balance.

Second Attempt Using Birthday as an Excuse

Undeterred, Sia arranged another meeting at Lohagad Fort on June 18, claiming it was her birthday. She invited her lover Chetan Chaudhary along. According to police, Sia sat at a pre-decided spot at the edge of the cliff while Chetan waited behind. Suddenly, Chetan pushed Ketan from behind, causing him to fall approximately 300 feet into the deep gorge, resulting in his instant death.

A Wedding Plans Worth ₹17 Crores Abandoned

Ketan and Sia’s engagement took place in February this year, with plans for a grand wedding scheduled for November. Their families had already booked a luxurious palace in Jaipur, Rajasthan, worth ₹17 crore Indian Rupees. Arrangements included two private aircraft for guest transportation.

However, Sia could not bring herself to accept her family’s disapproval of her relationship with Chetan. According to her statement in police custody, she believed that ending Ketan’s life was easier than breaking off the engagement due to her family’s objections.

Father’s Emotional Appeal and Public Outcry

Meanwhile, on Saturday night, local residents organized a candle march at Ketan Agrawal’s residence. His father, Vishal Agrawal, emotionally appealed to the public, urging everyone to come forward. He said, “Many people observed suspicious activity at the fort that day and reported it on social media, but they are afraid to approach the police. I request everyone to help us seek justice for my son. There will be no legal hassle for those who cooperate.”
