Fire Devastates House in Mechinagar, Loss Estimated at NPR 1.6 Million

Jul 01, Kathmandu - A fire broke out last night in Bhavana Chowk, causing an estimated damage of NPR 1.6 million.

The blaze destroyed household utensils, clothing, grains, half a tola of gold jewelry, and NPR 50,000 in cash. The fire gutted a two-room, semi-constructed house made of bricks, wood, and tin roof owned by Purna Chandra Rijal. The incident also resulted in the destruction of an attached livestock shed.

The fire was extinguished with the combined efforts of the Mechinagar Municipality fire brigade, Nepal Police, and local residents. The exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
