Jul 04, Kathmandu - Bajeko Sekuwa Limited, one of Nepal’s most renowned restaurant brands, is gearing up to issue an initial public offering (IPO) at a premium price. The company plans to offer 20% of its shares to the public through the IPO, with discussions also underway to issue shares to the founder shareholders at a premium.
A special general meeting has been scheduled for Shrawan 1 at the company’s registered office in Battisputali, Kathmandu, at 11 AM to approve the IPO proposal. The agenda includes delegating all IPO-related authority to the Board of Directors.
This follows the approval of the IPO proposal at the company’s Annual General Meeting held on September 18 last year. The company has already initiated credit rating procedures, receiving a 'CARE-NP Triple B' issuer rating from Care Ratings Nepal, indicating a medium-level safe investment.
Bajeko Sekuwa has an authorized capital of NPR 1 billion and a issued capital of NPR 750 million. The company, with a paid-up capital of NPR 600 million from the founders, is preparing to issue shares worth NPR 150 million to the public.
Founded 49 years ago in Sinamangal near Tribhuvan International Airport, Bajeko Sekuwa has expanded to 29 branches across Nepal and abroad. Known for its traditional Nepali cuisine and skewers, the brand offers over 200 menu items. Established as a private limited company on Kartik 23, 2066, it transitioned to a public limited company on Asadha 25, 2082.
Financially, the company has shown significant improvement in recent years. Operating income increased by approximately 31% from FY 2078/79 to FY 2081/82, reaching NPR 38.8 million. The surge in revenue is attributed to outlet and brand expansion, alongside growing demand for restaurant services.
