Jul 13, Kathmandu - Kathmandu police have begun controlling vehicles parked illegally in front of various media organizations across the city. Following reports of vehicles obstructing traffic flow and raising suspicions, authorities have launched an investigation into the matter.
According to Police Superintendent Pawan Kumar Bhattarai of the Kathmandu District Police Office, suspicious parking was reported at four locations, including Kantipur, Onlinekhabar, Himalayan Television, and near Bhatbhateni in Anamnagar.
Upon receiving the information, police teams were dispatched to the sites. The parked vehicles are being seized, and investigations are underway to determine their purpose.
In one instance, a vehicle parked in front of Kantipur Media Group’s office in Thapathali was removed using a crane. Police are also preparing to remove vehicles parked outside Onlinekhabar and Himalayan Television offices.
Authorities confirmed that all four vehicles have private license plates. The police are investigating who parked these vehicles, why they were placed there, and for what purpose, amid concerns about potential security or other motives.
