Jul 13, Kathmandu - In a provocative move, a vehicle associated with a government-supporting group was deliberately parked in front of Nepali Congress leader Gagan Thapa’s residence in Raatopul on Monday morning. The vehicle was positioned around 7 a.m., obstructing the road and making it impossible for Thapa and neighbors to exit their homes.
Eyewitnesses reported that the driver of the vehicle then boarded a Nepal Police van and left the scene. Following this, local residents expressed concerns over the incident, fearing potential harassment or intimidation.
Police have yet to issue an official statement on the matter. Meanwhile, similar vehicles were also found parked outside the Kantipur Media House in Tripureshwor, Himalayan Television in Madhyabhaneshwar, and OnlineKhabar Media House in New Baneshwor during the same morning.
Authorities responded by using a crane to lift and remove the illegally parked vehicles, which had obstructed traffic and caused disruption in the area.
